Soap Bubbles

This is my favorite new thing to do with silver glass. The rubber stampers may know why I entitled this Soap Bubbles. This reminds me of the homemade marbled paper that you can make with soap, ink and a straw. I really didn't do much which is the trick here. The base is silver glass which is then dotted with Effetre Dark Ivory. The top bead has Peridot and the bottom is Taxco. I didn't reduce the glass at all, just melted it in and topped each dot with clear. That way you can see the crackle effect of the ivory from the silver in each dot. Way cool!

  1. That's so neat. I'm a stamper, but am unfamiliar with that technique. Could you describe it more or point me to where I can find out how to do it? Thanks.

  5. I made a ton of bubble paper a couple of years ago and use it a lot in my card making. What I love is that the bubble imressions left on the paper are almost 3-dimensional in appearance. Here are 2 pictures of my bubble cards: http://tinyurl.com/8sde3m. Instead of food coloring, I used tempera paint.

  8. Thanks everyone for the help with the new (for me) technique. I can't wait to try it. I think I'll try it with reinkers too.
