Sketch Challenge!

Our first Sketch Challenge is up over at RSC! I'm hosting it so the prize is Beeswax stamps worth $48. Here's the card I came up with for the challenge so everyone would have an example. I really like it! If you know me then you know this really isn't my usual style so it was a challenge for me! I used our Lace Background 1075N, Rose Border 1232N and Thank You 1255G. The marbled paper is from Skycraft.

Tax Time.

Wally is off to do the San Jose show. I usually try and use the quiet time when he's gone to get taxes done but I just don't feel like it. I'm hoping to at least tackle half of it over the next two days but I can think of tons of other stuff to do that would be just a bit more fun. Even something like cleaning out the entire garage sounds like a blast compared to doing taxes.

Here's some more art from Karen of IL. A great scene using our Castle on Water Large 90N, Cat Princess 484K and Sitting on Bench 453I. I'm not sure what company's grass Karen used but we have a bunch of different grass stamps here.

I think I'm going to try turning the comment moderation off and see what happens. If I get spammed I'll turn it back on.

Aurae Sea Pod

This is the Sea Pod I made using Aurae. I haven't played with this glass long enough to figure out what I'm doing to get the different colored webbing. It's been far to stormy here lately to torch but it's supposed to clear up tomorrow. Hopefully I can play some more.

Happy Valentine's Day!

Here's the ATC I did for the RSC Valentine's exchange. I used 918K Heart Face, 1031G Fancy Love, and the heart from 919E Hoyle. I just stamped the Heart Face in black, masked it and then stippled the background with a sepia colored dye ink. Then stamped the hearts in red and the Fancy Love in olive. I colored in the Heart Face a bit with colored pencils. Super easy!

Aurae

This is the new glass Aurae from Double Helix. The bead on the left is just Aurae. The bead on the right is layered Aurae on Psyche Light on Dark Ivory. I'm not sure how I got the blue webbing in that one but it's seriously cool. I have a Aurae Sea Pod that I still have to photograph and it turned a pale lavender with webbing in it as well. I'll post that in a few days.

Hunter in Camo

Wally decided to tape the hummingbirds and then watch it on TV. It pretty much drove Trevor crazy. He kept looking out the window at the real feeders and then back at the TV. I love how he blends into the oak cabinet like he has camouflage on.

More Hummingbirds

I took these photos tonight of the feeding frenzy. A bit crazy for a winter day so just imagine what it's like around here in the summer. We have four feeders lined up along the back of the house. The first picture is of the one on the far right and the second picture is of the other three. We have a huge oak tree behind the house where the hundreds of hummingbirds hang out awaiting their turn at a feeder. Walking between the feeders and the tree....is risking your life.
