A Single Rose

I promised a sneak peek at a new image. I'll probably be releasing the new images in the third week of April. I'll have about 30, maybe a few more....we'll have to see. They are mostly scenic and floral, perfect for Spring.

Painted Lady

These butterflies are all over the place. They're not easy to photograph either. As soon as I walked up to them they'd all fly over to another plant.

Daffodils

Here are a couple of pictures from Daffodil Hill. Unfortunately the flowers weren't really in bloom yet. Ours have been in bloom for weeks but Daffodil Hill is at a higher elevation and I guess that puts them weeks behind us.

I'm kinda sorta almost done with taxes so I made beads all day today. It's nice when Wally's gone (shhh...don't tell him I said that) because I can go by my own schedule, eat what I want for dinner and just do my own thing. But now I'm bored without him, LOL! I guess that's the way it goes.

Peacock

Wally and I went to Daffodil Hill today and I was more taken with the peacock than I was the daffodils. We decided to each bring our cameras and have a little "photo off". This peacock wasn't really close so he wasn't that easy to photograph. Guess who's pictures you're seeing? Yeah, that's right....MINE! Wally's didn't turn out...poor guy. He always blames the camera....whatevah!

Wally is off to the Portland show tomorrow and I'm stuck finishing the taxes. I'm also going to try and get some new images done and off to the engraver. I also have the April POTM on the schedule to do as well. I guess I'm holing up here at home with the kitties.

Where are the daffodils? I'll post a couple of pictures (MINE) tomorrow. Be sure to click on these peacock pictures so you can see him in all of his beauty....thanks to my pictures...teehee.

Happy St. Patrick's Day!

I thought this Sea Pod I just listed on Etsy fit for today's color scheme. This one turned out extra pretty!

Terra Discs

Here are some Terra discs from that big batch posted a few days ago. I think these are a mix of T25 and T265. I had originally photographed them with my studio lighting but I lost all that wispy lavender and purple so I just rephotographed them in indirect sunlight. Much better. Purple is the hardest color for me to capture in photos.

Ready for your Closeup?

Just a couple more hummingbird pictures that Wally took. I think he's finally figuring out his camera and getting pretty proud of himself. He even offered to take my bead pictures last night.....if I could only get him to clean the beads we'd have a deal.

I've been working on some new images for Beeswax and I'm hoping to do a release sometime next month. I'll do a couple of sneak peeks in the next week or so.

Today is another really nice day here so I think I'll take advantage of it and play at the torch today. I don't just "play" very often. Usually I know exactly what I'm going to make. Playing can either lead to a wasted day with nothing to show for it or you can end up with some really cool stuff. Let's hope it's the latter today.

Terra

I played the Terra for the last couple of days making encased discs. I used original Terra, T25 and T265. The original Terra are the light blue, the T25 is the dark violet/purple (my fav) and the new version T265 is the orange/purple. Really, to me these are like three completely different glasses instead of a variation of one. I'm going to split them up into small sets and I may post better pics showing the difference in color. I couldn't help but post this pic after Wally took it just for the blog...lol!

New Glass Forum

I plagiarized the paragraph below from Twiggy. (LOL! Thanks Twiggy!)

"Insidelampwork.com is a forum for lampworkers and jewelry designers to discuss everything business oriented. Subjects from selling online and offline, ethics, and a tips section are available. The forum is new, come ask a question, make a statement, or post pictures of your newest items. There are no vendors on the site except as fellow business colleagues, so it is a fresh pressure free atmosphere to explore the many facets of business that artists face."

Anyway....it's a new forum more based on serious business discussions without the annoyance of derailing with cheese curds and kilt porn. Twiggy said it better.

I absolutely hate making twisties and I rarely do it. Too much work, too much time. Half the time they turn out an icky color combo and the bead made with them is fugly. Occasionally there is an exception and this bead is it. Of course I have no idea what glass I used to make the twistie.
